Windows Phone 7

At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona today, the company showed off Windows Phone 7 for the first time, which has been designed from the ground up to seamlessly pull together content from social networking sites and other web services on a scale unseen on competing platforms.

Phones based around the new operating system are set to hit the market by Christmas this year. Samsung, HTC, HP, Sony Ericsson, Dell, LG and Toshiba have already signed up as early partners.

  1. Seems pretty cool that you can integrate Windows / XBOX live on it, but other than that I'm not sure what to think! lol.

  2. Two things really feel important about this, not so much the phone but the new OS.

The fact that they linked a real physical button directly to Search, and the way they integrate feeds from social networking sites into your Photos and personal content.

This is a device that is meant to exist in a world and in the hands of a user who is always on. They've recognized the real purpose of the mobile; as a portal into that larger world, that other half of our lives and identities. Really exciting.
